Automating Letter Printing Using Action Paths
What is the purpose of this feature?
This feature enables automated letter printing using action paths. It streamlines the process by guiding users through setting up an action path, configuring an action code, and employing specific flags.
Can you provide a step-by-step overview of how this feature works?
Step 1: Creating an Action Path
- Create an action path named "Print Letter."
- Add the Flow Action "Print Letter": This flow action will create the "PRINT_NOW" flag, which signifies the need for immediate printing.
- Ensure the chosen destination supports local printing.
Step 2: Action Code Configuration
- Go to Setup-Workflow-Action Codes
- Add a descriptive label like "Run the Print Letter Action Path" to identify the action.
- Enter the code (corresponding to the Flow Action "Print Letter").
- Select "Print Letter" from the Action Path Field
- Save
Step 3: Initiating Automated Letter Printing
- Agents can open an account and select "Run the Print Letter Action Path" from the Action Code Field.
- Click Apply to initiate the process.
- This adds the "PRINT_NOW" flag to the account.
- The letter is then downloaded locally in a format compatible with local printing solutions (PDF, Word, etc.).
- Once the process concludes, the "PRINT_NOW" flag is automatically removed.
How does the downloadable letter feature work?
If the action path contains the "Print Letter" action or employs the "PRINT_NOW" flag with specific IDs for letter profile and destination, the letter will download to the user's device upon page reload. The downloaded format is compatible with local printing, such as PDF or Word.
What happens to the "PRINT_NOW" flag after the process is complete?
Once the process concludes, the "PRINT_NOW" flag is removed from the account, indicating that the automated printing action has been executed.
