# Cancelling and Reactivating Accounts

This article will demonstrate how to cancel and reactivate accounts.

## Cancelling an Account

1. Open an account
2. Click "Cancel Account"

3. In the next screen, select the Cancel reason from the drop down menu
4. Enter the cancel the reason in the Additional Information section
5. Click **Save**

### Cancelled Account

Once the account is cancelled:

- Cancel pill appears in the summary section
- Zero balance appears in the summary section
- Notes show the status changed
- Notes show the adjustments removing owing balances

## Reactivating an Account

1. Open the account
2. Click on "Reactivate"
3. In the next screen, select the Reactivate reason from the drop down menu
4. Enter the reactivate reason in the Additional Information section
5. Click **Save**

### Reactivated Account

Once the account is reactivated:

- Balance updates in the summary section
- Notes show status change
- Notes show balance adjustments
