# Calculate Interest

Use the **Calculate Interest** section to enable interest accrual for a specific client.

## Configure Client-Level Interest

1. Open the client profile.
2. Locate the **Calculate Interest** section.
3. Enter the default interest rate.
4. Select the buckets where the interest rate should apply.
5. Click **Save**.

Please Note:Client-level interest calculations override global interest calculations.

To configure global interest calculations, go to **Setup -> Preferences**.
