Create and Configure Client Commission Rates

Prev Next

Overview

Client Commission Rates determine how commission is calculated and distributed for payments collected on behalf of clients. Commission logic can be configured based on conditions such as status code, balance, account age, settlement percentage, assigned date, effective date, and more.

Multiple Commission Rate Logic records can exist within a single commission rate. ACE evaluates these logic records from top to bottom and applies the first eligible Commission Rate Logic that matches all configured criteria.

Step 1: Create a Client Commission Rate

Navigate to:

Clients → Commissions → New

ACE includes sample commission rates that can be used as templates.

Step 2: Configure Commission Rate Logic

Commission Rate Logic determines when and how commissions are applied.

Multiple logic records can exist within a single commission rate.

All configured conditions within a Commission Rate Logic record must be met for the logic to apply.

Please Note:

Commission Rate Logic is evaluated from top to bottom.

More specific logic records should always appear first, with the default commission logic last.

Example Scenario

A customer wants to configure commission rates that change over time using Effective Dates.

Image Displays Example Scenario for Effective Date Commission Rate Logic Configuration

Because ACE evaluates logic from top to bottom:

  • Payments dated on or after 05/15/2026 receive 20%

  • Payments dated on or after 04/20/2026 but before 05/15/2026 receive 30%

  • Older payments receive the 40% default commission

When using Effective Dates:

  • the logic with the most recent Effective Date should be evaluated first

  • the default logic should always remain last

Payment Plan Commission Rates

There is an option available on the Client Profile to use Payment Plan Commission Rates.

When enabled:

  • the eligible Commission Rate Logic associated with the account at the time the payment plan is created becomes the commission rate for the payment plan

  • payments associated with the active payment plan continue using the same commission logic while the payment plan remains active

  • This allows commission calculations to remain consistent throughout the life of the payment plan.
