Prerequisites:
Refer to our guide on Configuring the Letter Data Source before proceeding.
Prepare the Letter Template:
Open LibreOffice Writer and create a new file.
Save the file with a suitable name like "Letter Template" or "Sample Letter."
Tip: Organize with an ACE Letters Folder
Enhance your workflow by creating a dedicated ACE Letters folder on your computer. This folder is ideal for storing both the ACE.ods database and your ACE letters. By centralizing these files, you ensure easy access and efficient management. Simply set up the folder in a location of your choice, and maintain a well-organized repository for all your ACE-related documents.
Access the Database:
Navigate to View → Data Source in LibreOffice Writer.
Explore Database Tables:
Click on the database you previously set up.
Expand the database by clicking the '+' button.
Explore available tables for use in letter creation.
Sample Letter Example:
Refer to the sample letter below.
Notice the highlighted fields representing database entries.
To incorporate these fields, drag and drop the field title (e.g., companyName) into the document.
During letter generation through the InterProse portal, these fields will auto-populate with relevant information.
Setting the Date:
To insert the date, follow these steps precisely:
Go to Insert → Fields → More Fields → Date.
This ensures that the date reflects the current sending date.
Optionally, you can offset the date if the letter will be sent on a future date.
Adding a Logo:
To include a logo:
Navigate to Format → Page → Header.
Ensure that 'Header On' is checked.
Click OK
