Bundle Groups in ACE help identify specific sets of accounts and apply actions or communications to them.
Creating a Bundle Group:
Go to Setup → Accounts → Bundle Groups → New.
Complete the following fields:
Label
Identifier
Group By Fields: define criteria to group accounts
Logic: Select a logic block to apply additional criteria
Save
Note
A bundle group may result in one or more bundle groups of accounts. The example bundle group identified above could result in any number of bundle groups of accounts as shown in the table below.
View Logic Block
To view a logic block associated with an existing Bundle Group, click on the logic block icon.
Bundle Group Example
The example demonstrates four distinct Bundle Groups created from specified criteria:
There are 8 accounts that meet the Bundle Group logic.
Note that there may be additional accounts in the bundle that don't meet this logic.
Within the bundle, there are 2 different Itemization Creditor Names, 2 different Itemization Date Sources, and 3 different Itemization Descriptions, all aligned with the bundle group logic.
This example scenario of Bundle Groups arises when different itemization descriptions (3 descriptions) and date sources (2 sources) are assigned to various accounts within the existing bundle of 8 accounts.
Bundle Group of Accounts | Itemization Creditor Name | Itemization Date Source | Itemization Description | Number of Accounts |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Anderson Construction | Last Pay Date | Services | 3 |
2 | Anderson Construction | Last Pay Date | Products | 2 |
3 | Catterson Electric | Last Pay Date | Services | 1 |
4 | Catterson Electric | Last Statement Date | Products | 2 |
Bundle Group Account Total: 8 |
How to Use Bundle Groups
View a Bundle Group of Accounts:
Navigate to the Bundle section of a bundled account and click the funnel icon on the far right.
Choose a Bundle Group from the list to filter and display only those bundled accounts.
The applied Bundle Group details are shown in the Bundle section header in italics.
To return to the full list of bundled accounts, repeat steps 1-3 and select the "All" option. The filter will be removed upon exiting the account page.
Apply Actions to a Bundle Group:
Account collector actions can be applied to Bundle Group accounts. For instance, when entering a dispute via the account sidebar, use the filter tool to select a bundle group of accounts for the dispute.
Account-level actions can also be applied to filtered Bundle Group accounts.
Send a Letter to a Bundle Group:
Schedule a "BUNDLE_GROUP" type of letter for a specific Bundle Group of accounts.
When scheduling the letter, include the bundle group of accounts. This is useful for local print letter scheduling and data sent to letter vendors. For local print letters, ensure the table in the letter template listing all accounts in the bundle group is named 'bundle_group_loop' (similar to bundle letters).
Caution:
When scheduling Bundle Group letters to a letter vendor, ensure they are aware of the letter identifier for correct data handling. Special fields, such as bundGroup.currentBalance, may need to be added to the vendor template.
A bundle group letter can also be scheduled via Action Path by selecting a Bundle Group type letter.
Note
The Bundle Group of accounts included in the letter will be based on the account from which the letter was scheduled.
Apply Actions via Action Path to a Bundle Group Subset of Accounts:
Where one bundle group letter can be sent in relationship to a Bundle Group of accounts, it's also possible to take one or more specific actions against each of the accounts in a Bundle Group of accounts. This can be accomplished by using the Action Path Class identified below (Bundle Group Accounts Loop).
Create two action paths:
1. An Action Path with the action or actions to be taken against each of the accounts in the Bundle Group of accounts. In the example shown here, that action path is called "Flag = LNT".
2. The Bundle Group Accounts Loop Action Path that will be run (fired) from a job or trigger which will, in turn, run the first action path for each of the accounts in the Bundle Group of Accounts. (In this screen shot, only the action is seen, not the action path it is in).
