A recall method defines: - Which forwarded accounts should be returned - When the recall should occur ## When to Use a Recall Method Use a recall method when accounts should automatically be returned based on status or conditions. #### Common Use Cases Set up automatic recalls for accounts that are: - Paid Off - Cancelled - Bankruptcy - Deceased ## Access Go to: **Forwarding → Recall Method** ## How to Create 1. Click Add New (or create a new record) 2. Configure the following fields: #### Required Fields - Identifier – Unique name for the recall method - Selection Logic – Defines which forwarded accounts are eligible for recall - Schedule – Determines when the recall runs #### Optional Field - Recall Status Code – Passed into the recall process for tracking purposes ![](https://cdn.document360.io/6c7303ca-5ffc-4149-8868-8ea498eee635/Images/Documentation/Screenshot 2026-04-29 143509.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T16%3A38%3A45Z&se=2026-10-31T17%3A38%3A45Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=bLa%2Fpcr2ONEhTx5VW%2BcYM77LLuWFQMwjhcywMGcfmlo%3D) Image Displays Recall Method Page ## Important The Recall Status Code does not update the debt status code. - The value is saved and passed into the recall flow - It does not automatically change the account’s status If a status update is required, it must be handled separately (for example, through logic, workflows, or additional configuration). ## How It’s Used - Identifies accounts eligible for recall based on logic - Runs on a defined schedule - Initiates the process to return accounts from vendors ## Exporting Recall Files Just like distributions, generating a file for export to your forwarding vendor requires an additional step. - Running the recall method identifies eligible accounts - A separate process is required to generate and send the recall file ## Sending Recall Files (Recall Job) After a recall method identifies accounts for recall, a job must be used to process those accounts and generate the recall file for the forwarding vendor. ### How It Works - The recall method identifies accounts eligible for recall - The job processes those accounts - Export tasks generate and send the recall file to the vendor #### Create a Recall Job 1. Go to **Utilities → Jobs → New** 1. Label: Recall Accounts Job 2. Schedule: On Demand 3. Active: True 2. Add first task 1. Tasks: Forward: Recall Accounts 2. Recall Method: Select your Recall Method 3. Add second task 1. Tasks: Forward: Export Recalls 2. Forward Vendor: Select your Forwarding Vendor 4. Add third task (Optional) 1. Tasks: Document: Transfer To Job 2. Local Folder: [Configured Export Folder] 3. Remote Protocol: SFTP (if applicable) 4. Remote Host / Path: [Vendor-specific] 5. Save ## Notes - Test recall logic before enabling scheduled runs - Ensure recall criteria do not conflict with active workflows - Use recall batch history to review results
