The loader adds an Invoice Profile assignment when it is not already present; it does not create a new Invoice Profile. ## Before You Begin - Identify each client by its **Client ID** or customer client code. - Confirm that the Invoice Profile already exists in the same ACE environment. See [Creating Invoice Profiles](https://docs.interprose.com/docs/creating-invoice-profiles) for setup instructions. - Map only the fields you intend to change. For new clients, check required values, including client code and company name. ## Assign an Existing Invoice Profile 1. Identify the client to update and verify its Client ID or customer client code. 2. Identify the existing Invoice Profile to assign. 3. Select the **Clients** load method in the ETL profile. 4. Map the profile’s **Invoice ID** or **Invoice Identifier**. The corresponding field names are `invoiceProfileID` and `invoiceProfileIdentifier`. 5. Run a controlled import for a test client. 6. Review the import messages and confirm that the intended Invoice Profile appears on the correct client before processing the full file. > **Please Note:** A blank Invoice Profile value does not remove an existing assignment, even with **Overlay** enabled. Do not use a blank overlay to remove an Invoice Profile. ## How Overlay Affects Client Matching **Overlay** controls how mapped values are applied to an existing client. It does not restrict the import to existing clients. The Clients loader can create a new client when no match exists and the row passes the required checks. ACE looks up the supplied **Client ID**. If no Client ID is supplied, it uses the customer client code. Verify these values before importing a file intended to update existing clients. ## Before Loading the Full File - Confirm that each test row matched the intended client. - Verify the resulting Invoice Profile assignment. - Review blank-field behavior for each mapped field. Invoice Profile assignments use add-only handling. - Review import messages and correct any mapping or data issues.
