    Article summary

Secure Payment Reminders can be sent via text, email, or letters. When creating these reminders, three main variables can be used depending on whether you are addressing individual accounts or bundles of accounts:

    • ${paymentPlanSchedule.amount}: The amount of the payment, excluding any service fees.

    • ${debt.nextScheduledAmount}: The amount of a payment associated with a specific debt, including service fees.

    • ${bundle.nextScheduledAmount}: The amount of a payment associated with a bundle of debts, including service fees.

How to Choose the Correct Variable

When sending reminders, the variable you select depends on whether you are referring to a payment for a single debt or a bundle of debts.

For an individual debt or account:

Use ${debt.nextScheduledAmount} if you want to include the total payment due on a specific debt, including any service fees. This variable is ideal when the consumer is paying off one debt at a time.

For a payment plan involving multiple debts in a bundle:

Use ${bundle.nextScheduledAmount} if you want to reference the total payment amount for a group of debts (a bundle). This is helpful when multiple debts are being managed together under one plan.

For payment plans without service fees:

Use ${paymentPlanSchedule.amount} when you need to show the scheduled payment amount without any service fees. This can be used whether it’s scheduled or sent from  any debt in a bundle even if the debt is not part of the payment plan.
