Regulation F

Check out the "Take a Closer Look" section where we outline the second phase of new features and tools in ACE being rolled out with this release to help you manage Regulation F requirements.

Cool New Upgrades

Document Loading

The speed to load documents into ACE has been improved.

Pending Bundle - Additional Fields

The Date of Birth and Driver's License fields for the primary demographic are now visible when reviewing pending bundle matches (Workflow -> Pending Bundles).

SQL Designer - Commission Rate Logic

The table, commission_rate_logic, is now available to the SQL Designer with the following fields.

 Bundle Validation Notice Dates

On October 10th (the last release), Account Validation Notice Date and Age fields became available in ACE to record associated data as part of ACE Regulation F Phase 1 development work.

Bundle Validation Notice Date and Age Fields are now also available to be displayed, used for logic conditions and used for workflow.

User Interface Reset Update

When the "Reset UI" button is used (from a user profile), additional preference settings on the account page are now being reset to a new user default and/or the UI Interface Template applied to the user's profile. These settings include "Account Summary", "Account View" (section order), and Note Filter selections and Column view settings in list sections.

New Bundle Spread Method

There is a new bundle spread method (Setup -> Transactions -> Spreaders) available that will spread an equal amount of the payment across all accounts in a bundle starting with the smallest balance account in the bundle. It's called, "Equal Across Bundle Smallest Balance First".

After the smallest balance account is paid off, the rest of the payment will be spread equally to the remaining accounts in the bundle, starting again with the smallest balance account remaining in the bundle.

Regulation F Development - Phase 2

The CFPB's 12 CFR Part 1006 (Regulation F) has a version that will go into effect November 30, 2021. With that in mind, InterProse is developing features and tools in ACE to help customers better manage Regulation F requirements.

Per documentation shared with customers September 25th and October 1st via email, the second phase of this development work will be released on October 24th as outlined in the details below.

Need: Prevent restricted accounts from coming up in worklists

By default, restricted accounts will not be included in worklists. There is an option in the worklist profile which can be set to true (checked) to allow restricted accounts to be worked.

worklist restricted accounts

Need: Restricted account tools

Accounts will now be restricted based on set up in the new Setup -> Compliance page. In the screenshot below the "Maximum in Contact Window" green & white "tooltip" is highlighted. If it's set to true (checked), the maximum "Contact Window" settings in the section above are some of the settings used that can be used to restrict an account.

There are several other variables and options that impact account restriction. It is recommended that all tooltips in the Compliance page be reviewed when putting restricted account settings in place.

An alert will now be displayed and a red "RESTRICTED" pill will be displayed when a restricted account is viewed by any user

Click to call tools will be disabled when a restricted account is viewed

Text Messaging will be disabled when a restricted account is viewed

Emailing will be disabled when a restricted account is viewed

A permission will automatically be in the Administrative Permission Role and will be available to add to other management level users who may need to place a phone call or send an email despite the restriction on the account.

Restricted Override Perm

Need: Restricted account data workflow access

In addition to the new "in window" fields available (see further below), the two restricted fields below are also available for logic blocks and workflow.

logic options

Need: A method to identify 7 calls/contact attempts in 7 consecutive days

Based on restricted account settings under Setup -> Compliance, contact statistics (counts) will be recorded at the account level and the bundle level. See the screenshot below.

Fields displaying the recorded statistics are available

  • for inclusion in the account summary section
  • to be used for conditional logic
  • to be reported using SQL Designer & Inventory Designer
  • to be used in action path workflow

Need: Firewall restriction override for consumer allowed contact within 7 day period (prior express consent)

Please note: this development, originally scheduled for this Phase 2 release has been rescheduled for Phase 3 of the ACE Development Plans.

Need: A method to evaluate or clear stored calls, attempts
and contacts within a window of time

Restricted "inWindow" fields that haven't been updated within 7 days will be automatically cleared when the "Launch Date Triggers" job is scheduled to run.

If a customer needs to refresh all "inWindow" fields again on a particular date, there is a new job task available for that purpose as shown in the screenshot below.
