Modify A Payment Plan

This article explains how to modify an existing payment plan.

Payment plans can be modified to update payment credentials, amounts, dates, frequency, or other plan details.

Permission Required

Users must have the PAYMENT_PLAN_MODIFY permission to see the Modify option.

When enabled, the Modify option appears next to Apply and Deactivate on an active payment plan.

How It Works

• When Modify is selected, ACE automatically deactivates the existing payment plan.
• The payment plan page opens, allowing you to update the plan details.
• Existing payment credentials are retained.
• The Modify option is available for both standard and settlement-type payment plans.

Important Behavior

• Settlement Amount and Percentage are read-only during modification and cannot be edited.
• These values reflect the original settlement values from when the plan was first created.
• Payment Plan Total represents the remaining balance to be paid on the plan at the time of modification.
• The payment schedule automatically regenerates when changes are made to any schedule-related fields.
• Validation criteria will often show in red on the payment plan page if requirements aren't met. Tooltips often describe the validation. If payment amounts or number of payments fails validation for the plan, the schedule will be cleared and the plan cannot be saved. The schedule will be recreated when validation rules are met.

Modify a payment plan

1. Click Active Payment Plan in the account sidebar
2. In the Plan Information section, click Modify
3. Click Yes in the Confirm Modify Payment Plan pop-up
4. Update the necessary fields
5. Click Save

Save Behavior

The Save button is disabled until all required fields are complete.
