Bank Identification Number (BIN)
Overview
The Bank Identification Number, also known as the credit card bin (BIN) can tell you the name of the bank that issued the card, the type of card like Debit or Credit, brand of card like Visa or MasterCard and level of card like silver, gold and platinum. From the bin database you can also check other details about the card and issuer.
Payment Destination
Within the payment destination setup, admins can set the preferences to fit their payment destinations needs. The payment destination has the global setting for BIN rules.
- Exclude Credit Cards – Is a Boolean value to only except debit cards.
- Exclude Credit Card BINS (csv) – Allows you to exclude individual BIN's or a range of BIN numbers.
- Exclude Credit Card Banks – Allows you to exclude individual bank(s).
Client Profile – Settlement / Payment Options
Within the client profile, admins can set the individual BIN options on a per client basis in the Settlement / Payment section. Client specific BIN rules supersede the payment destination BIN rules.
- Exclude Credit Cards – Is a Boolean value to only except debit cards.
- Exclude Credit Card BINS (csv) – Allows you to exclude individual BIN's or a range of BIN numbers.
- Exclude Credit Card Banks – Allows you to exclude individual bank(s).
