Regulation F
Check out the "Take a Closer Look" section where we outline the fourth phase of new features and tools in ACE being rolled out with this release to help you manage Regulation F requirements.
Cool New Upgrades
Regulation F Bonus Development
In addition to the scheduled development we are including in each release, needs continue to be identified and put in place. This release, we've added a method to allow Client Access Users to manually enter itemization data with new accounts. and itemization letter loops for local print letters and for vendor letter files.
Client Access User itemization Entry
Under Setup -> User Interface -> Client Access setup to require client access users to include Itemization data entry when adding accounts. Once enabled, the Itemization section will be displayed when the client access user selects Accounts -> New Account.
Be watching for new help documents in the weeks ahead with additional guidance on setting this up.
Itemization Letter Loops
Seven table loop properties are now available for local print letters in ACE as follows.
- itemization_trans_loop (includes all)
- itemization_trans_owing_loop
- itemization_trans_received_loop
- itemization_trans_interest_loop
- itemization_trans_fees_loop
- itemization_trans_payments_loop
- itemization_trans_credits_loop
A new looping value is also available to send itemization transactions to the letter vendor in the letter file. Each transaction will be represented on a separate line of the file. An additional line will need to be added as the last Export Field in the field list. It will be entered as follows.
Mail Returned
When an address is manually marked as mail returned, the last letter sent is now also set as mail returned. This now matches ETL loader behavior.
Take a Closer Look
Regulation F Development - Phase 4
The CFPB's 12 CFR Part 1006 (Regulation F) has a version that will go into effect November 30, 2021. With that in mind, InterProse is developing features and tools in ACE to help customers better manage Regulation F requirements. Per documentation shared with customers September 25th and October 1st via email, the fourth phase of this development work will be released on November 21st as outlined in the details below.
Need: itemization group/sub-bundle group - Deferred from Phase 3
An option now exists in ACE to create and use Bundle Groups. Accounts that are bundled together for the same consumer or debt, a bundle, can now be segregated into one or more different Bundle Groups while remaining part of the same bundle.
Set up for Bundle Groups can be found under Setup -> Accounts -> Bundle Groups.
A Bundle Group in ACE is defined as follows.
- Label and identifier for reference throughout ACE
- Group By Fields
- Logic
- A combination of Group By Fields and Logic
Lists of bundled accounts visible from account pages will now have a filter tool in the bundle list section header.
- The filter tool can be used to filter the list of bundled accounts based on a selected bundle group.
- The section header for the bundle list will include, in italics, the filter applied to the bundle list.
A new "BUNDLE_GROUP" type of letter can now be scheduled for a specified Bundle Group of accounts. Letter profiles with this type can also be scheduled via action path. Please Note: The letter will only include the accounts in the Bundle Group of the account the Action Path was fired on. It will not include other member accounts from the full account bundle.
"Apply to" actions for accounts and others; such as bankruptcies, disputes, deceased and transactions; can now be applied only to the accounts matching the selected Bundle Group filter.
A Bundle Group Accounts Loop is also available to be used in Action Paths.
Please Note: The looping actions will apply only to the accounts in the Bundle Group of the account the Action Path was fired on. It will not be applied to other member accounts of the full account bundle.
Need: Add itemization date to credit reporting options
Completed early - see Release Notes for November 7, 2021
Need: Stored date(s) of calls, letters, emails, texts (to be used for firewall restrictions) - Exists in ACE; erroneously added to schedule
Need: Firewall restriction from campaign files - Deferred to Phase 5*
Need: Model form template (email) - Deferred to Phase 5*
Need: Email link to opt out - Deferred to Phase 5*
*Please Note:
Due to the evolving nature of development surrounding Regulation F, you can expect tasks to continue to be rearranged between scheduled phases of development. Whenever possible, we will clearly define the various changes to the originally scheduled development work here in the release notes.
