Overview
The Test Rainmaker Tool allows administrators to preview and validate how Rainmaker AI responds to messages across multiple communication channels. This interactive tool lets you edit and test your Rainmaker prompt file directly in ACE before publishing it live.
You can use the tool to simulate conversations for Chat, Text, and Email interactions.
Please Note: Voice is included for future potential functionality but is not currently available.
How to Access the Test Rainmaker Tool
Load a Test Account
Before opening Rainmaker Preferences, load a test account in ACE.
Important: Always use a test account. Any configured workflows—such as Summary Actions, Action Paths, or field updates—may still execute if triggered during testing.
Open Rainmaker Preferences
Navigate to Setup → Rainmaker.
The Rainmaker Preferences page displays your current Rainmaker configuration.
Download the Current Prompt File (Recommended)
Before testing, download and save a copy of your existing Rainmaker prompt file.
Best Practice: Keep a backup of your current prompt file so you can easily restore it later if needed.
Launch the Test Tool
Click Test.
The Test Tool expands below the Rainmaker Preferences section and automatically loads your current prompt file.
Select a Communication Channel
Use the Channel Selector to choose a channel for testing—Chat, Text, Email, or Voice.
Note: Voice is listed for future use.
Each channel is tested independently allowing you to validate prompts by communication type.
Begin Testing
Enter a message in the text box and click Send.
Wait for Rainmakers reply and review it.
Try rephrasing the same question multiple ways to evaluate the responses consistency.
Click Test again at any time to reset and start a new session.
Using the Test Tool
The Test Rainmaker Tool simulates a conversation using the currently loaded Rainmaker configuration.
Each test reflects the active Rainmaker prompt file, plus any edits you have made in the current test prompt window.
To test prompts effectively:
Test each channel (Chat, Text, and Email) separately. Results will vary depending on the selected channel.
Observe how Rainmaker interprets message variations and context.
Adjust your prompts as needed.
Tip: Iterating the same question in slightly different ways can help evaluate how prompt changes affect Rainmaker’s consistency and context awareness.

The image above highlights the main components of the Test Rainmaker Tool:
Test Button – Opens the test interface.
Test Prompt Field – Displays and allows edits to the active Rainmaker prompt file.
Message Entry Box – Where you enter test questions or statements (what the consumer would be submitting).
Send Button – Tests your message using the selected channel.
Channel Display Field – Shows the input and Rainmaker’s responses in the selected channel.
Publish and Revert Buttons – Manage whether test changes are applied to your published Rainmaker Prompt file or discarded. Revert is available only after modifications have been made and before publishing. Once published, the changes become part of your live configuration.
Important Notes
Rainmaker functions are fully active during testing. If your prompt file triggers Action Paths, Summary Actions, or field updates, those actions may execute as configured.
Always test with non-production accounts to prevent unintended updates to live data.
Use controlled, repeated testing to refine prompts and confirm expected AI behavior before going live.
