This article provides an overview of the Custom Text Field in VA 2.0 and explains how to customize its content using a JSON file. It guides users through the process of downloading, editing, and uploading the "translate.json" file to personalize various text elements within VA 2.0.
Custom Text in VA 2.0
The Custom Text field in VA 2.0 allows users to personalize the following information:

privacy_policy
reminder_notice
esignature_notice
bundle_selector_header
Miranda Notice
The Miranda Notice is displayed upon the initial login per device and when the consumer logs in using the auto-login link or using an SSO option (Google or Facebook). Upon viewing it, a browser cookie is placed to prevent its reappearance on the same device. Yet, if logging in from a different device, like a phone, the notice will be shown again.
Downloading the Default File
Users can download and customize the default "translate.json" file, which includes content in both English and Spanish.
Go to Setup → Virtual Agent → Profiles → Virtual Agent Preference Profiles
Navigate to the Contact Information Section
Locate the Custom Text Field
Download the default “translate.json” file using the Download Default button
Language Support
If the consumer's browser is set to Spanish, Russian, or French Canadian, VA 2.0 will display content in those languages. To customize content in these languages, users can modify the translate.json file.
File Customization and Upload
Open the downloaded “translate.json” file
Update and rename the file and save
Modify the contents
Save
Upload the customized file using the Upload button

Text Editors
Use text editors to directly edit the "translate.json" file:
Open the "translate.json" file using any text editor that supports JSON syntax.
Modify the content as needed.
Save the changes once editing is complete.
HTML Browser Tools:
Use HTML browser tools and platforms like Codepen.io to visualize changes:
Visit Codepen.io to design and preview HTML text components.
Use browser HTML tools to visualize text appearance.
Copy formatted content from Codepen.io or browser tools.
Paste content into the appropriate sections of the "translate.json" file.
Save changes to integrate customized text into the JSON structure.
