ACH Payment Plans: Intelligent Failure and Rescheduling for NSF Events

    • PDF

    Article summary

This article introduces two options designed to address Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) payments and ACH payment plans.

    Intelligent Failure:

When a payment results in an NSF, the plan remains unaffected unless it's the second consecutive NSF occurrence.

    Note

This option does not apply to settlement plans.

    Intelligent Reschedule:

If Intelligent Failure is active and an NSF occurs without failing the plan, the failed payment is automatically rescheduled to the end of the payment plan.

    To enable these features:

    1. Navigate to Setup → Transactions → Payment Destinations

    2. Locate the ACH Payment Destination

    3. Find the Payment Destination Section

    4. Check the box in the Intelligent Failure Field to enable

    5. Check the box in the Intelligent Reschedule Field to enable

    6. Click Apply

    Note

Agencies should establish workflows for effective NSF payment management. If Intelligent Reschedule is inactive and the payment isn't rescheduled, customers are advised to develop workflows for managing missing NSF payments in a completed plan.
