Email Address Status and Priority Handling
Email Address Status and Priority Handling
The Account Page displays email information in two distinct sections:
Account Summary Section
Provides a high-level overview of email statuses using color coding and icons.
Email Addresses Section
Displays detailed information about each email, including priority rankings, status updates, and opt-in data.
Summary Section
The Summary Section shows key contact details, including the primary email address, with color coding and icons indicating its status:
Default (White): No special status.
Red: "Do Not Contact," "Wrong Email," "Reassigned," or "Do Not Email."
(Red overrides all other colors.)
Gray: Inactive or Bounced status.
(Gray overrides green but not red.)
Green: Opted-in for email.
(Only shown when no other conditions apply.)
Verified Status
A green and white checkmark icon indicates that the email is VERIFIED.
Email Addresses Section
The Email Addresses Section provides a table with detailed information for all emails associated with the account. This section includes:
Priority Rankings
The Pri (Priority) column determines the order in which emails are used for communication.
The email with priority 1 is the primary email used.
Email Status Updates
The Els Status and Status columns provide detailed usability information:
ACTIVE: The email is valid and usable.
VERIFIED: The email is confirmed for use (indicated by a green checkmark).
BOUNCED: The email failed delivery and is demoted in priority.
NEW: The email has been added but is not yet verified.
Automatic Demotion of Bounced Emails
When an email’s status changes to BOUNCED, it is automatically demoted to the bottom of the priority list.
The next eligible email is promoted to priority 1 to ensure continuity in communication workflows.
Opt-In Details
The Els Opt In Date reflects the timestamp when the consumer opted in to receive email communication.
The DNC (Do Not Contact) column identifies emails excluded from communication workflows.
Color Coding Priority Rules
Red statuses override all other colors and indicators.
Gray statuses override green but not red.
Green statuses are shown only when no red or gray conditions apply.
Verified status (green and white checkmark) can accompany any color except red.
Summary of Behaviors
Opt-Out Behavior: When a consumer opts out of an email address, its status updates to DO_NOT_CONTACT, ensuring compliance with preferences.
Bounced Emails: Emails marked as BOUNCED are automatically demoted in priority, while the next eligible email is promoted.
Verified Emails: A green checkmark in both the Summary Section and Email Addresses Section indicates the email has been confirmed for use.
