A form's Layout Columns setting defines how much of a forms horizontal space a column of fields will use by default
Layout Columns may be represented differently in different browsers and each browser being used should be verified when setting up or making changes to forms


The default number of layout columns is selected under Setup - Forms - Form - Layout Columns
