NACHA Transfer Methods allow ACE to generate electronic ACH files for outgoing remittances from a Trust Account, such as funds being remitted to a client.
Each NACHA Transfer Method is associated with a Trust Account and contains the banking information ACE uses to generate the NACHA file for submission to a financial institution.
NACHA Transfer Methods are separate from NACHA Payment Destinations, which are used to process incoming consumer ACH payments.
Before You Begin
Before configuring a NACHA Transfer Method:
Configure the applicable Trust Account in ACE.
Obtain the required NACHA configuration values from your financial institution.
Confirm any file-formatting requirements with your financial institution, including whether NACHA block padding is required.
In the Client Profile, enter the banking information used for NACHA remittance: the bank routing number in the Remit Route Number field and the bank account number in the Remit Account Number field.
Note
ACE supports NACHA file generation for most standard processing scenarios. Financial institutions may have additional or institution-specific requirements that are not supported through standard ACE configuration.

NACHA Block Padding
Some financial institutions require NACHA files to use a blocking factor of 10, meaning the total number of records in the file must be divisible by 10.
Enable NACHA Block Padding when this format is required by your financial institution.
When enabled, ACE adds records filled with 9s to the end of the generated NACHA file until the total record count is divisible by 10.
For example, if a generated file contains seven records, ACE adds three padding records so the completed file contains 10 records.
If the record count is already divisible by 10, no additional padding records are added.
Note
NACHA Block Padding is also available for NACHA Payment Destinations under Setup → Transactions → Payment Destinations.
NACHA Payment Destinations are used for processing incoming consumer ACH payments and are configured separately from NACHA Transfer Methods.
Using NACHA for Remittance
Transfer Methods determine how funds are remitted from a Trust Account.
A NACHA Transfer Method can be used when funds are remitted electronically rather than through another Transfer Method, such as Manual or Local Print Check.
During the accounting and invoicing process, ACE can use the configured Transfer Method when remitting funds to clients.
The Transfer Method used for client remittance may differ from the Transfer Method used for other processes, such as refunds or overpayments.
