    Article summary

    The letter category in ACE determines how each letter impacts contact counts, system workflows, and compliance reporting.  The Category field can also be used in SQL Designer reports by referencing letter_config.category.

    When to Use

    Validation Notice

    Used for validation/first notice. It allows specific fields on the account page to be date stamped with the sent date, end date, and returned date which can be used to restrict accounts and associate with workflow.

    Additional Notice

    Applies to any notice that does not fall under the Validation Notice or Limited Content categories.

    Limited Content

    This is used to distinguish notices that may qualify as “limited content” now or in the future.

    Information

    This category is intended for communication which is informational and should not be included as a contact attempt. Examples of this could be payment reminders or payment receipts.

    First Party

    This category is intended for first-party collection type letters. This category doesn’t drive any specific behaviors in ACE.

    Other

    This is the default category. This category counts as a contact attempt with a consumer.

    Invitation

    This category is used to send invitations to opt in.
